Life Members learn about the music business at Honolulu CC
UHAA 'Onipa'a members enjoyed an evening of martinis and jazz on Feb. 1 as they learned about the Music & Entertainment Learning Experience (MELE) program at Honolulu Community College. Life members sat in on a recording session with special guest performers Aaron Salā, piano; Zanuck Lindsey, guitar; and Bruce Hamada, bass; and heard from MELE instructors and students. The Kapi‘olani Community College and Friends Association recently helped to rekindle the Honolulu District Science Fair, which had been dormant for 30 years. On Feb. 11, chapter volunteers helped from set-up to clean-up at the event, which had 450 student participants from 20 area elementary, middle and high schools. MORE
