Honolulu — Insurance firms Dongbu Insurance and Farmers Insurance have teamed up to make a $15,000 gift to support UH West Oʻahu's Certificate in Risk Management and Insurance Program. Their gift will support the operations and staff of this new program designed to meet the national growing need for skilled insurance professionals.

"UH West Oʻahu continues to make great strides in partnering with businesses to design programs that meet the needs of its students and the business community," said Michele Saito, president, Farmers Insurance Hawaii. "We are proud to support UH West Oʻahu's most recent innovative program, the Risk Management and Insurance Program. Our local insurance industry has ample job opportunities in many disciplines of study, and this program will be a valuable resource for students aspiring for successful careers as insurance professionals."

Hyung Sub Kim, U.S. branch manager of Dongbu Insurance Company added, "Dongbu Insurance is relatively new to Hawaiʻi and we are pleased to be a contributing member of Hawaiʻi's insurance industry."

The Certificate in Risk Management and Insurance provides training in risk management, personal and commercial insurance and prepares students for the licensure examination.
