Waikīkī Aquarium

The Waikīkī Aquarium marks its 110th anniversary in 2014. As the second-oldest public aquarium in the nation and part of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa since 1919, the Waikīkī Aquarium has come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1904, and it is on track for an even brighter future.

“Continued support from the local community is critical to our success in actively promoting understanding, appreciation and conservation of the marine life of Hawai‘i and the tropical Pacific through our exhibits, research, and public outreach programs.”

—Dr. Andrew Rossiter, Waikīkī Aquarium director
