HONOLULU – The University of Hawai‘i Foundation is happy to announce that development professionals Elaine Evans and Linh Hoang Poe have been promoted.

Elaine Evans has been promoted to director of development for the UH Mānoa John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) where she will raise philanthropic support and steward major gifts.  Evans joined the UH Foundation in 2011 as director of development and alumni engagement at JABSOM.  Here she engaged alumni and built philanthropic support among them. Before joining the UH Foundation she was the director of development for the Hawaii Theatre Center where she was responsible for all aspects of community support including special event fundraising, grant writing, corporate and individual memberships, volunteer coordination and the organization’s capital campaign. Evans came to the Theatre and the non-profit sector after a career in sales and marketing with positions including the advertising director for Honolulu Magazine. A graduate of Punahou, she completed her B.A. degree in history at Hollins University in Virginia. Evans has been an active community volunteer for many years and has served on the boards of professional organizations and many non-profit organizations.

Linh Hoang Poe has been promoted to senior director of development for Kapi‘olani Community College, where her primary responsibility is to raise private funds to support the mission of the college. Hoang Poe joined the UH Foundation in 2003. Most recently she served as director of development for Kapi‘olani Community College, and before that she was associate director of the office of estate and gift planning at the UH Foundation and fiscal services support manager. Prior to joining the Foundation, Hoang Poe was an auditor with N&K CPAs. She is an alumna of UH Mānoa, Shidler School of Business and has a degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting.
