Kaua‘i and Oahu, Hawaiʻi – The University of Hawaiʻi Foundation is happy to announce that Jennifer Burke has been promoted, and Rose Ramos-Benzel has joined the development team.

Jennifer Burke has been promoted to director of development for the School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.  In this new role, she will work with Dean Mary Boland to expand fundraising efforts and broaden philanthropic support for the School. Prior to this promotion, Jennifer served as the associate director of development for the Shidler College of Business for two and a half years. Here she raised major gifts and managed the annual fundraising initiatives. She also served for five years as the assistant director of scholarship development in the scholarship office.

Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from UH Mānoa with a double major in Journalism and Sociology and was a member of honor societies Phi Beta Kappa, the Golden Key International Honor Society, and Kappa Tau Alpha.  Born and raised in Honolulu, Jennifer is a graduate of Kalani High School.

Rose Ramos-Benzel has joined the Foundation as the director of development, Kaua‘i Community College. In this role, she serves as a member of the Regional and Community Colleges development team. Her primary focus will be partnering with donors to raise major gifts that support the visions of the Chancellor of Kaua‘i Community College.

Rose first came to Kaua‘i in the 1980s from California, when she was hired as director of sales for This Week Kaua‘i. During her career she has held a range of management positions and been involved in enterprises including ownership of a Jazzercise franchise for 25 years, an award-winning gourmet food company, and serving as administrative coordinator for the Kaua‘i Chapter of the Hawaiʻi Hotel Association. Rose earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from San Jose State University.
