UHAA enjoys day at Windward Ho'olaule'a
The UH Alumni Association took part in Windward Ho‘olaule‘a, Oct. 2 on the Great Lawn of the Windward Community College campus. Among the many participants and vendors, UHAA had an information display and held a drawing for a prize pack, which Georgi DeCosta AA '08 (Windward) won. See photos from the event.
UHAA now welcomes all UH alumni as basic-level members
To keep alumni connected with the university and with each other, UHAA has created a new membership level open to all UH System graduates. Basic-level members can access UHAA's Online 'Ohana alumni directory at UHalumni.org to keep in touch. Premium benefits, like event and partner discounts, and chapter membership are still available to paid members. Set up or log into your free Online 'Ohana account by Nov. 15, 2010, and you'll automatically be registered to win an iPad, a $200 Costco gift card or a Warriors Football helmet! Shidler Hall of Honor inducts four distinguished alumni
Stephen Chamberlin, Gordon Ciano, Cecilia Ho and Eric Yeaman were recognized as outstanding alumni of the Shidler College of Business at the 2010 Hall of Honor Awards on Sept. 23 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
LIS chapter visits newly renovated library space
The UHAA – Library Information Sciences Alumni Association chapter welcomed LIS alumni to an open house in the newly-renovated areas of Hamilton Library on Sept. 19. More than 80 LIS alumni, friends and faculty attended the event and visited the new LIS program space.
Alumni gather in Illinois to remember Sept. 11
The UHAA Greater Midwest Chapter and guests met on Sept. 11 at the Tiki Terrace Restaurant in Des Plaines, Ill. A centerpiece of orange day lilies with an American flag displayed a card: "The Greater Midwest Chapter remembers all of our patriots on this day of September 11. We will never forget. Aloha Pumehana."
L.A. Chapter welcomes area UH-bound students
UHAA – Los Angeles/Orange County chapter members gathered to welcome 15 incoming UH Mānoa students at their annual Summer Send-Off on Aug. 1. Alumni shared their UH experiences and prepared local foods for the students and their families to enjoy.

The facility will feature 150,000 square feet over six floors.

SUPER-M fellows bringing international paper-folding lessons to Hawai'i
Students in grades K-12 in Hawai'i and Switzerland will be working o the same mathematical theme.

Academy for Creative Media features six student films at HIFF
Six ACM student films will be featured in the 2010 Hawaii International Film Festival.

Times Higher Education ranks the campus 115th of the top institutions worldwide.

Civil engineering professor to map landslide-prone areas
Peter Nicholson recently begun a pilot project funded by $60,000 from FEMA to develop digital maps.

Congratulations offered as Nobel Prize for in-vitro fertilization awarded
Dr. Ryuzo Yanagimachi is recognized worldwide for the groundwork he laid in in-vitro fertilization.

Former doctoral student wins $500,000 'genius grant'
Kelly Benoit-Bird earned a PhD in Zoology in 2003 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in 2004.
