Yes, that’s exactly what Gaye Chan and Ian O’Sullivan dreamed up. Chan is the chair of the Department of Art and Art History and O’Sullivan is the head of UH Mānoa Guitar program. They teamed up this spring to bring free concerts to one of the most travelled spots on campus – the ART building breezeway between two vibrant galleries with ever changing exhibitions.

On April 1 and May 6, 2015, the campus community was invited to bring a lunch to the UH Mānoa ART Building breezeway, listen to amazing music by O’Sullivan and his students, and check out an art show.

“The ART Building is already a popular short-cut and a favorite hangout spot,” said Chan. “With the lunchtime concert nestled between our two galleries, live music and art would be such a welcomed pause in our busy days. It just makes so much sense to enhance the experience of the folks who are already here and welcome others to our neighborhood.”
