  • For the Love of Jimmy

Hawai‘i’s beloved singer Jimmy Borges has touched the lives of people worldwide. As a performer, he enthralled audiences from Las Vegas, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and beyond. His interpretations of music legends’ songs from Frank Sinatra to Gershwin brought audiences to tears, and made hearts soar with joy for 60 years. A multifaceted performer, Borges also graced the TV screen with his performances in episodes of the classic Hawaii Five-O, as well as Magnum P.I. and other TV shows.

Passing the Musical Torch

When Borges was diagnosed with cancer, his friends and family came together to establish a scholarship in his honor. Borges himself had been a scholarship recipient and wanted to help others fulfill their dreams.

The Jimmy Borges Endowed Scholarship supports students pursuing a degree in vocal music performance in the Department of Music at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa College of Arts and Humanities.

Help others pursue their Musical Dreams

Please join us and support the next generation of singers and musicians who can carry on Borges’ legacy of entertainment, talent and commitment to our community. This scholarship will encourage Hawai‘i teens to pursue their dreams, just as Borges did through his successful 60-year music career.

Mahalo!
