Chamme
When this is over, I plan to either continue my education or finally go back to work full-time. I’ve been a part-time student for over 13 years to take care of my ‘ohana. My husband is the sole provider for our family of five. We have two daughters, a son along with a grandson and two daughters-in-law. As my husband plans to retire in two years, I said to him, it is time to enjoy and be the stay-at-home dad. I am more than happy to take on the work life. I cannot wait to see what lies ahead.
Thank you for granting this award to my ‘ohana and me. I am a senior at UH West ‘Oahu studying Business Administration in Management and will be graduating in May. I also work at Pearl City Elementary School as a part-time paraprofessional tutor.
When this COVID-19 crisis began, I really tried to keep it all together, not knowing how bad the situation would turn out. As I applied for all the resources provided by school, work and other sources, it was frustrating because everything was either busy or required waiting to get any results. I believe in being patient and understanding that all will come to pass.
Slowly, I am now getting some results, and I am able to help my household. I really hope all of this will come to pass, and I can't wait to fulfill my dreams, to pursue a career with my new degree. I want to thank all who have donated to help the students out. I also encourage other students to apply—a little help goes a long way, and don't be ashamed or afraid to ask for help.
