Wo Learning Champions

October 16, 2012

For students to fulfill their potential, our educators need to fulfill theirs.

Private support of faculty helps create enriching learning opportunities for our educators, and builds leadership skills. When we encourage new ideas and energize teaching practices in the classroom, students succeed.

“A good teacher affects the lives of multitudes of people, helping them to determine and achieve their goals. We wanted to support the community colleges because of their commitment to teaching excellence and because they offer hope to people who desire to improve themselves and work toward a better life.” —Bob and James Wo

Thanks to the $1 million gift from the Robert C. and Betty Wo and James C. and Juanita Wo Foundations, faculty and staff at UH Community Colleges are receiving leadership training and enrichment opportunities.

Through the Wo Learning Champions program, educators are becoming 'champions for teaching and learning.'
