Megan Biggs is the recipient of a Barbara Yap Scholarship for Physical Therapist Assistant students. This is an excerpt of her thank-you letter to donors.

I am currently studying to be a physical therapy assistant at Kapiʻolani Community College with the intention of graduating in the summer of 2020. After gaining further experience in the field, I would like to focus specifically on pediatric physical therapy.

Working with children has always brought me such joy, and the thought of being able to use my love for science in a way that serves our keiki gives me great anticipation for the future. With the help of scholarships, the financial burden has been lifted and I can focus on my training without worry of cost of education. This brings me closer to my goal of working as a pediatric PTA each and every day.

With your scholarship, you have not only encouraged me to strive for success in my studies—you have become a major part of this success.

I am determined to pour back into the community just as you have invested in me. In the spirit of aloha, it is my duty to give back to the Hawaiian community as I have been so blessed by it.

As I learn and grow in my skills as a PTA, I am preparing to serve those around me as best I can, both professionally and personally. The generosity of individuals like yourself ensures the achievement and prosperity of generations to come. Again, I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue my studies as a PTA student thanks to your contribution.

Mahalo for all your support!
