Judith Pyle, a successful business executive, UH Foundation board trustee, artist and philanthropist pledged $2 million to establish an endowed dean's position at the UH Mānoa Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge.

On June 28 Judy's friends and faculty from the Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge came together to enjoy an intimate celebration that included Hawaiian music and a special chant.

Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw and Maenette Ah Nee-Benham, dean, Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge thanked Judy and her husband Wayne Pitluck for their profound commitment to and appreciation of Native Hawaiian culture. They also stressed the tremendous impact this very generous gift will make in supporting the use of knowledge gained by the school to perpetuate Hawaiian culture and community.
