120 friends and supporters of Hawai‘i CC-Pālamanui attended the 6th Annual Golf Tournament at The Club at Hokuli'a in Kona. The sold-out event was organized and chaired by Jim Lally and Ross Wilson.

New Hawai‘i CC- Pālamanui Director Marty Fletcher warmly thanked the enthusiastic participants for supporting an accessible educational venue for the youth of West Hawai‘i. To celebrate how far this long-awaited campus has come, Marty’s golf team wore hard hats in honor of the new campus construction that is currently underway.

Golfers and attendees included Interim UH President David Lassner, Max Unger of the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks, Mayor Billy Kenoi, Public Works Director Warren Lee, County Deputy Managing Director Randy Kurohara, Police Chief Harry Kubojiri, Kamehameha Schools Trustees Micah Kane and Lance Wilhem.

The HCC Pālamanui Golf Tournament has raised nearly $80,000 for the college over the last 6 years.

Mahalo to:

  • The Club at Hokuli'a for hosting the golf tournament for six years
  • John DeFries for his long-time support
  • Hokuli'a golf professional Darren Sayre for his many years of kokua.
  • Kona Brew for donating beer (you can’t have a great golf tournament without beer!)
  • Big Island Toyota for offering a 2014 Toyota Prius as a hole-in-prize. Unfortunately no winner this year.
