Friends, donors, and faculty of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) at UH Mānoa gathered at the Hawaiʻinuiiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge, to celebrate the impact private support is making on the College and its students.

Scholarship recipients shared powerful, personal stories about how private support has helped them fulfill their dreams. Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw and CTAHR dean Sylvia Yuen warmly thanked donors and announced a $500K gift from the Monsanto Company.

The new Monsanto gift establishes the Monsanto Research Fellows Fund. The goal of the new fund is to enable eligible students to enhance their educational and professional development through fellowship programs, including financial support for student research and participation in national professional conferences.

After the program, guests reflected on the important work CTAHR does, and felt great happiness knowing the impact their generosity is making on our sustainable future.
