On Thursday February 26, UH Mānoa scholarship recipients and their donors celebrated the gift of education during a special event at the newly refurbished Gateway Cafeteria.

Guests enjoyed a lively program that included remarks from Jean Toyama, an alumna and recently retired faculty member, who with her family has established two scholarships.

William Haines, a graduate student in the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR), and the first recipient of the D. Elmo Hardy Scholarship, offered the student perspective with his engaging talk on entomology and the power of scholarships.
