The UH Foundation is happy to announce that Kathleen Hogarty and Allison Ohanian have joined the fundraising team, and Laurie Komatsu has been promoted.
New Hires
Kathleen Hogarty has joined the team as executive director of development for the William S. Richardson School of Law. Hogarty has held a range of leadership development positions in Hawai‘i including managing director for the fundraising consulting firm KMH Consultants; director of major gifts for PBS Hawai‘i; and director of advancement for Seabury Hall, Makawao. Hogarty earned her BA from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Allison Ohanian has joined the team as senior executive director of estate and gift planning. Before joining the UHF team, she was the senior director of planned giving and estates at San Diego State University. Previously serving as planned giving specialist at California State University, Long Beach, Ohanian brings with her over 15 years of experience in higher education. Ohanian is a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG), earned a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and her BA in Sociology from the University of San Diego.
Promotion
Laurie Komatsu has been promoted to senior executive director of scholarship development. Since joining UHF in 2011, she has served in various roles, most recently as director of corporate & foundation relations. In this new role, Komatsu is responsible for leading the scholarship development team to increase support for UH students statewide. Komatsu earned a BA in Communications from the University of California, Los Angeles, her Master of Public Administration from UH Mānoa, and an MBA from UH Mānoa Shidler College of Business.
