The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa's School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology and the Center for Microbial Oceanography: Research and Education has been awarded the largest one-time donation the University of Hawai‘i has ever received--$40 million from the Simons Foundation. The Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology, or SCOPE, aims to further humankind’s understanding of all ocean microorganisms.
