N&K CPAs, Inc. Establishes Endowed Scholarship for Accounting Excellence at UH Mānoa Shidler College of Business
HONOLULU, HI — The Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa has received a gift to create an endowed scholarship from N&K CPAs, Inc. The endowed scholarship will provide tuition assistance to the best and brightest Accounting students at the College in perpetuity.
HONOLULU – Dana and David Matlin have pledged $35,000 to create the Lillian S. Hatate Scholarship Endowment. David Matlin is currently the UH Mānoa Athletics Director. This scholarship will support full-time student-athletes participating in intercollegiate sports on any sports team at UH Mānoa who are pursuing a degree in Education.
Hawai‘i – After a highly competitive national search, the University of Hawai‘i Foundation is very pleased to announce that Rebecca Tseng Smith and Tom Smith Tseng will be joining the UH Foundation executive team Dec. 10.
Dr. Hany Guirguis and Adele Etinas, longtime supporters of the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, have established the John M. & Mimi F. Pezzuto Excellence Scholarship Fund for student pharmacists in recognition of the Pezzuto’s significant contributions to the successful growth of the College.
HONOLULU – After a highly competitive national award selection process, Honolulu Community College and the University of Hawai‘i System emerged as one of 24 institutions to receive a $225,000 Integrated Planning and Advising for Student Success in Higher Education (iPASS) grant from Achieving the Dream in partnership with EDUCAUSE.

HAWAIʻI — The University of Hawai‘i Foundation in partnership with generous donors and UH partners, raised $129 million in fiscal year 2015 (7/1/2014 - 6/30/2015). These funds will support students, faculty, research and programs on all ten UH campuses.
HONOLULU - Drs. Sung Chul and Daisy Yang of Yongin, South Korea, have pledged $1 million to establish an endowment to support the Drs. Sung Chul Yang and Daisy Lee Yang Lecture Series. Their pledge will support the promotion and advancement of Korean Studies at the Center for Korean Studies at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa School of Pacific and Asian Studies by creating a lecture series featuring eminent scholars of Korean or Asian affairs.
HAWAI‘I – The University of Hawai‘i Foundation is happy to announce the appointment of five community leaders to the board of trustees. They are Mike Hirai, Bob Hiam (returning board member), Mary Sellers (returning board member), Stanford Carr (returning board member) and Bill Grayson. Current board member T. Michael May has been elected to serve as board chair.
