Event Date: July 10, 2009

Students, songwriters, music business professionals and supporters of the Honolulu Community College's Mele program gathered together to participate in a three day intensive songwriters conference.

Participants greatly enjoyed the seminars, panels, one-on-one critiques and nonstop networking where they were able to interact with nationally successful songwriters, multimillion-sellers in all genres-pop, urban, R&B, country, and film/TV.

Live entertainment was also an appreciated part of the weekend. The program kicked off with an opening night concert at Aloha Tower - HARBOR LIGHTS - THE SONGWRITERS SING. Saturday night's showcase - CONTEMPORARY SONGS OF THE ISLANDS - featured songs developed by workshop participants.

This was an unforgettable weekend for all who joined.
