On January 29th, the scene shop at UH Mānoa's Kennedy theatre was abuzz with colorful conversation and camaraderie as Founder and Hoku donors came together to experience an exclusive sneak preview and backstage tour of the Jingju (Beijing/Peking "opera") "The White Snake".
Elizabeth Wichmann-Walczak, Director of the Asian Theatre Program provided an overview of The White Snake (Bai She Zhuan) and with her Chinese collaborating artists, demonstrated different aspects of this production and Jingju.
