On Saturday, July 28, Windward Community College rolled out the red carpet, complete with photographers and champagne welcome, at its Chancellor's Gala Dinner to celebrate the opening of the Library Learning Commons.
Guests enjoyed tours of the new facility, which is slated to be Silver LEED certified. WindwardCC students will now be able to access all library services as well as research and computer learning areas. The building will also house the campus media center and marketing offices, and The Hub coffee gathering place.
During the dinner portion of the evening, program and service leaders shared with guests the outstanding opportunities WindwardCC offers its students. 'Speed Dating WindwardCC Style' was met with rave reviews. Chancellor Doug Dykstra thanked everyone for celebrating the new building as well as learning about campus programs. "Tonight has been a wonderful evening. We were pleased to have everyone here tonight to enjoy this outstanding new 'jewel' of our campus. Thank you for supporting this campus and its students," said Chancellor Dykstra.
