University of Hawaiʻi Foundation (UHF) works closely with university leaders, but is an independent, non-profit foundation that is legally separate from the university and the State of Hawaiʻi. The Foundation is the primary fundraising organization that raises private money for the university, and ensures that gifts are used according to donors' wishes and that funds are managed wisely so future generations will benefit from them.

The University of Hawaiʻi Foundation (UHF) is a tax exempt charitable organization

The University of Hawaiʻi System includes 10 campuses and dozens of educational, training and research centers across the Hawaiian Islands. As the public system of higher education in Hawaiʻi, UH offers opportunities as unique and diverse as our Island home. Visit the UH System website at www.hawaii.edu.

ʻAhahui Koa Ānuenue (AKA) supports the UH Mānoa athletic department by coordinating and overseeing certain fundraising operations and revenue-producing activities. This includes the booster clubs, sale of season tickets and premium parking for all Mānoa sports.

The University of Hawaiʻi Foundation (UHF) receives and deposits all of the contributions and donations from AKA’s base fundraising activities and the booster clubs that support the Mānoa athletics programs.

All of the funds received by UHF from AKA’s base fundraising activities and the booster clubs are assets of UHF and are reported by UHF in its audited financial statements and on its annual Form 990 filed with the IRS. For more information on AKA please visit www.KoaAnuenue.org.

About the University of Hawaiʻi Alumni Association
Nearly 250,000 alumni from all 10 campuses of the University of Hawaiʻi (UH) system are unified as members of the UH Alumni Association (UHAA). The non-profit organization promotes and supports UH by connecting alumni and friends with the university and with each other, strengthening stakeholder relationships in the community, and inspiring pride among the UH ʻohana. Informally constituted in 1922, 10 years after the first graduating class of 1912, UHAA was formalized into a system-wide umbrella organization for all UH-recognized alumni groups in 1988. Governed by a volunteer board of directors, UHAA includes a nationwide and international network of affiliated alumni chapters. Since 2002, the UH Foundation's Office of Alumni Relations has worked closely with UHAA to serve the growing community of UH alumni living in all 50 states and more than 100 countries. To join the UHAA, please visit UHalumni.org.
