HEI, American Savings Bank give $500,000 to UH RISE project

Representatives from Hawaiian Electric Industries, American Savings Bank and University of Hawaii outside the Atherton building. Hawaiian Electric Industries and American Savings Bank have each committed a $250,000 gift to the University of Hawai‘i Foundation for the live-learn-work community at RISE — Residences for Innovative Student Entrepreneurs, which will be operated by the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship, or PACE, at UH Mānoa’s Shidler College of Business.

Wackers give $250,000 to UH RISE project as demolition begins

Rendering shows UH Mānoa’s Residences for Innovative Student Entrepreneurs (RISE) project in the morning. The gift from Rich and Eileen Wacker will help fund furnishings, equipment, programs and scholarships at UH Mānoa’s Residences for Innovative Student Entrepreneurs (RISE) project, which is under construction on the site of the former Atherton YMCA.
