The Stan Sheriff Center Arena was alive with color and conversation as nearly 400 donors and student scholarship recipients attended the 2015 scholarship celebration. The event showcased the sciences, highlighting the breadth of expertise we have at UH, and the myriad programs where scholarships are helping students thrive.

Guests heard from UH leadership, and UH Mānoa geology and geophysics professor Julia Hammer who shared how scholarships and mentors helped shape her successful academic and personal journey. Scholarship recipient, Ph.D. student and apprentice navigator on the Hokule’a Worldwide Voyage, Haunani Kane shared how her experiences in the classroom helped her and the Hokulea team conduct important research while at sea.

Through scholarships and fellowships, UH students are able to take their learning out of the classroom and into the world! Mahalo!
