HONOLULU — The Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has received a real estate gift of $117,000 from UH Shidler alumna Cecilia Ho. The gift is unique in that the Ala Moana condotel will be used by the Shidler College of Business for visiting professors, faculty candidates, and visiting Executives-in-Residences. Ho has authorized the College to sell the property in the future to fund the Cecilia Ho Endowed Scholarship for Excellence to support full-time undergraduate students enrolled at the Shidler College of Business.

A resident of Hong Kong, Ho is the president of the Lee Hysan Foundation, a family foundation established in the 1970s by one of the most prominent families in Hong Kong. The Foundation supports programs in Hong Kong for the underprivileged. Previously, she was the executive director of private wealth management for the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs (Asia) LLC and director. Prior to that, Ho was managing director and team head of Citi Private Bank and held other Citi executive positions in Canada and Hong Kong.

Throughout her 30 years of global banking experience, Ho received distinctions for being the youngest manager at Citigroup, the first female to head Citi's International Personal Banking Division in the USA and Canada, and was acknowledged for her support of educational and humanitarian initiatives such as World Vision, Ocean Junior Chamber of Commerce, and for establishing an elementary school in Lijiang, China. She is truly the embodiment of her motto which is "Just 'walk the talk' — don't 'talk the talk'!"

Ho earned a BBA in marketing from the Shidler College of Business and attended the Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She was inducted into the Shidler College of Business Hall of Honor in 2010.

"Cecilia has been a staunch supporter of the College for many years," says Vance Roley, dean of the Shidler College of Business. "She is one of Shidler's most accomplished and prominent alumni in Asia and has continuously promoted our College, programs, students, and alumni activities in her region."
