Grand Opening of 21st Century Music Recording Studio and Learning Lab

On November 5, the Honolulu Community College Music and Entertainment Learning Experience (MELE) program hosted a free public event to unveil the newly renovated state-of-the-art recording studio. In recognition of a substantial donation from the Mike Curb Family Foundation, the learning facility was renamed the Mike Curb Music and Entertainment Learning Experience Studios.

The Honolulu CC MELE program is the only program in the state that offers students Associate of Science degrees in Music Business or Audio Engineering. The goal of the program is to invest in local talent to grow Hawaiʻi's music industry and broaden its reach to the world.

"The newly renovated studio and classroom will allow us to offer a state-of-the-art learning facility for students and put Hawaiʻi's music industry on the map," says Keala Chock, Director of the MELE Program.
