HONOLULU — The University of Hawaiʻi Foundation is pleased to announce that Lori Admiral has been promoted to associate vice president of development for the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Additionally, Dave Mori and Paul Oleniacz have joined the development team.
Lori Admiral has been promoted from director of development to associate vice president of development for UH Mānoa. In this leadership role she carries out a full-range of fundraising activities in collaboration with the UH Mānoa chancellor to increase the margin of excellence of the Mānoa campus education and research programs. These activities include the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of leadership gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations to advance the priorities of the campus. Admiral also oversees fundraising activities related to the UH Mānoa campus and supervises the fundraisers for the Mānoa campus. Admiral joined the University of Hawaiʻi Foundation in 2007 as associate director of development. She was promoted to director of development in 2010 and most recently served as interim associate vice president - Mānoa development operations. Admiral is a University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa alumna and holds a MA in Pacific and Asian Art History and a BA in Art History.
Dave Mori has been appointed director of development for the University of Hawaiʻi Cancer Center. In his new role he is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals, corporations and foundations for major gifts to the Center. He also provides leadership to campaigns and special projects for which major gifts are essential to the Cancer Center's multi-pronged efforts to find a cure for cancer.
Mori brings to the Center his extensive corporate and non-profit experience in the Japanese and Canadian markets. Past positions include serving as co-founder, CEO and director of Piku Media Co. Ltd. in Japan. He established Piku in 45 days from concept to launch to be the first group-buying business in Japan and grew the business to multi-million dollar revenues within one year. Mori also served as the co-founder, CEO and director at English OK Co. Ltd., where he created Japan's first service-English training company and Japan's premier service business online directory, EOK.jp.
In the non-profit sector, Mori has served as the president and director of the Entrepreneur Association of Tokyo NPO since May 2003 which he founded to promote and support entrepreneurship in Japan. Amongst other charitable activities, Mori served as a public speaker for the Canadian Cancer Society where he created and delivered cancer awareness speeches on topics including skin cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer to school groups, corporations and nursing homes.
Mori has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Entrepreneurial Management from the Royal Roads University, Victoria, B.C., and a China Honorary Degree in Asian Studies from Suzchou University, Suzchou. He also attended Camosun College, Victoria, B.C.
Paul Oleniacz has joined the Foundation as the director of development for UH Mānoa Sciences. As a major gift fundraiser serving from the Chancellor's office, he identifies, cultivates and solicits prospective donors for substantial gifts that support the Chancellor's vision for the science units.
For the past 10 years, Paul has been director of development and communications for a variety of non-profit organizations including the Inland Northwest Blood Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Northwest and St. Joseph Family Center all located in Spokane Washington.
Prior to this, Paul worked throughout the Continental U.S. in the for-profit sector as senior product marketing manager and as territory sales manager for leading international energy product manufactures American Meter Company, Invensys, Inc. and Itron, Inc.
Paul graduated with a BA in Journalism from Duquesne University located in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Organization Management at the University of Delaware.
