Fellowship Award from San Diego-based Company Adds to Industrial Affiliate Program
(Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) - The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s College of Engineering has received a gift of $25,000 from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to support graduate student fellowships.
We are pleased to receive this support for our graduate students, Dean Wai-Fah Chen said. SAIC now joins our other corporate supporters in the College of Engineering as we continue to build partnerships that benefit both our students and their private sector sponsors.
SAIC is honored to participate in UH Mānoa’s College of Engineering Industrial Affiliates Program, said Dr. Mark M. Mekaru, SAIC vice president. SAIC's Fellowship Award will expand the strong relationship we have with UH to advance and apply science, technology and engineering knowledge."
In addition to joint research projects with the College of Engineering, SAIC supports the UH Institute for Astronomy's Faulkes Educational telescope program, Maui High Performance Computing Center operations, other projects with the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, and a new bioinformatics initiative with the UH Cancer Research Center of Hawaiʻi.
