Donors, students and Honolulu CC ‘ohana celebrated the impact of scholarships at a special reception in the Norman W.H. Loui Conference Center.
                     
Chancellor Erika Lacro welcomed and personally thanked donors for the important role they play in providing students with access to a quality higher education, and the support they need to excel.
 
Dean of Student Services, Katy Ho, welcomed Alissa Huddy to the stage to share her story. Alissa is a scholarship recipient who finds joy in “getting her hands greasy” and is working towards a successful career in automotive mechanics.
 
Guests also heard from Ming Chi, a trustee of the Feng Yi Fong Foundation who shared the humble story of Feng Yi Fong who was inspired to give in memory of his mother, a single parent who worked multiple jobs to provide an opportunity for Fong to receive a good education.
