Before his public talk, Inouye chair holder Walter Echo-Hawk was honored at an intimate reception celebrating the Dan & Maggie Inouye Distinguished Chair in Democratic Ideals. This endowed chair brings individuals of the highest caliber to our community to share their expertise and insights, enriching our lives with meaningful lifelong learning opportunities.
Recent chair holders have included distinguished journalist Linda Greenhouse, law scholar Eugene Fidell, environmental lawyer Antonio Oposa, political activist Angela Davis, American activist Ai-Jen Poo, and most recently award-winning director and producer Chris Eyre.
