Shidler Alumni Association Invests $100,000 to the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship

HONOLULU — The Shidler College of Business Alumni Association (Association) has committed $100,000 to the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE) at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UHM), Shidler College of Business. As part of a five-year commitment, this gift will support entrepreneurial education and help UH monetize research efforts. In recognition of this gift, the conference room at the renovated home of PACE at the College will be named in the Association’s honor.

Group International and Business Associates Donate $60,000 to University of Hawai‘i School of Architecture

Group 70 International (G70), Hawai‘i’s largest kama‘āina design firm rallied its employees and business associates to collectively contribute $60,000 to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa School of Architecture (UHSoA) fund drive this month. A check presentation was held on Dec. 3 at Group 70’s downtown office where G70 Chairman Francis Oda, Arch.D., FAIA, AICP, LEED AP, presented to Daniel Friedman, PhD, dean of the school.

Disney Conservation Grant Continues Support for Coral Reef Research

HONOLULU – The UH Mānoa Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology (HIMB) in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology has been awarded a $24,650 grant from the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF) to support the Connecting Coral Reefs Worldwide project. This new award will build on the positive outcomes of their 2013 award.

$100,000 From Murayamas Funds Wahine Sand Volleyball Team and Student-Athlete Success

HONOLULU – Jared and Donna Murayama have pledged $100,000 to support the Wahine Sand Volleyball team and facilities at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Athletics Department. In recognition of the Murayama’s generosity, the Wahine Sand Volleyball Head Coach's office has been named "Murayama Ohana! Cara, Jaimie, Donna and Jared. Aloha and Go Bows!"
