21st Annual Noble Chef Gala

Noble Chef fundraising gala University of Hawai`i Maui College Culinary Arts Program is proud to announce the details for their 2017 Noble Chef fundraising gala on October 28th, 2017. Held at the Fairmont Kea Lani, the event will feature students working alongside Maui’s most notable Chefs in a not-to-be-missed culinary journey to the Hawaii of yester-year. Reception begins at 5:30 pm followed by sit-down dinner at 7:00 pm.

Coach Shoji Endowment Established

Over 1,500 friends and fans joined Dave Shoji, the second-winningest coach in NCAA volleyball history, and other Hawai‘i stars for the Dave Shoji Aloha Ball Retirement Celebration.

Two University Foundation Executives Recognized for Fundraising Achievements

Two female executives who led their university foundations to record growth and national prominence are the 2017 recipients of the CASE Commonfund Institutionally Related Foundation Awards. Lynette Marshall, president and CEO, of the University of Iowa Foundation, and Donna Vuchinich, president and CEO, of the University of Hawaii Foundation, were formally recognized for their contributions at the 25th annual CASE Conference for Institutionally Related Foundations, March 29-31 in Austin, Texas.

Hawaii Dental Service Grants Totaling $211,000 Support Smiles Statewide

Many of Hawai‘i’s families face serious oral health challenges due to a range of issues including the high cost of living, no statewide fluoridation system, no school sealant program, and a lack of oral health education. The Pew Center on the States reviews and assesses states’ performance in a variety of domains. Its reports on oral health have consistently rated Hawai‘i an “F.”
